Catching up on the past few weeks

Wow, where to begin? Went to the cabin at Westcliff, Colorado. Anthony's aunt and uncle have a cabin near lake Dewiess. Was there over the 4th of July week end and there were a lot of people there. So there was many things to keep us all busy. Played "cornhole", which is a beanbag toss game, but everyone can play. Which Anthony took on all takers, he loves playing anything and he stayed so busy that had to make him stop to eat! Then one day was spent on the boat, and he tried the tube and that was great fun. But too soon everyone left, and he had only his Nana and Po. Thankfully there were some kids near by that had a trampoline and they were about his age, so most of the days were spent on it. Tried his hand at fishing for a few minutes, and spent some time swimming. One day we loaded in the truck for a road trip and ended up at the Royal Gorge park. That was totally awesome. Anthony is not too fond of heights, but will say he was a real trooper, but the red tram was not to be tried. Did ride across the bridge and walked back and took the railway cog to the bottom.

It was a nice park, and saw some big horn sheep and other animals too. Spent 10 days at the cabin, but it seemed a lot longer, our satellite tv didn't work, so we rented every movie, played cards, rummykin, and anything else. On the week ends they have movies at the one theater in town. We seen the movie Kung Fo Panda. It was very cute, the pandas name is Po! Came back to town on Sunday, we are staying at the same campground as before. It is Pike Peak in Manitou. Did go one day with Nathan (friend that Anthony had met a few years ago) to Mr. Biggs (video amusement park). That is the only time that they spent anytime together. Nathan is tired most of the time, his dad has him on a triathlon team so he is working out a lot. But there is a boy in the RV park and they are the same age so they are having a good time. Also Anthony has been going to the swimming pool, which is right next door, in the afternoons. Went to the zoo this past Sunday, and they have one fabulous zoo here. Spent 5 hours there and he enjoyed it to no end, there were so many things that he was just enchanted with. It was so neat to watch him enjoying it so. He even took the sky lift with us, and then wanted to do it again! So much for his fear of hieghts. Today was the new Batman movie, which wasn't all that good.

Today was a work day, laundry got done, shopping, getting everything ready to leave tomorrow for the cabin. We went to Costco, now that is Anthony's kind of store, like Sam's, lots of samples. He is spending the night at Cyndi's with Roinn. Leaving early in the morning and will try to keep a running story to post when we get a hook up again. There is no service of any kind at the cabin, although there is electric and all in the cabin.

Way up High

What a day! Can not believe that I was the one to suggest going to the top of the mountain, there were no guard rails, the road turned to dirt, then mud as they were grading it and wetting it down, guess so they could scrap it easier. It was just plain spooky, and Anthony could not have enjoyed it less. Then we stopped at one of the lakes to fish, but surprisingly the lake water level was down, so the walk in was a little much. And Anthony's theory is if the fish are not biting, lets eat. And he did, beginning to think there is a hollow leg attached to that kid. Did catch one fish and then we left. Santas Village (amusement park) was on the road home, and old people(over 60) got in free, so we decided this would be a good time for him to go. He got his money's worth, if you only counted the tilt-a-whirl, think he rode it 10 times alone. He did get a little sick, but a chili dog seemed to clear that up, cause after that he did some more rides. Too be young again, as it is, that is all for now, have to get up and let my butt in the door, it just got home! Pictures later.

Monday June 30th

Today Po and Anthony went fishing in the pond near the campsite, but there were no fish harmed in that experiment. This afternoon went to some of the goodwill/salvation army stores, looking for kid treasures. Found a bat and ball, basketball and some lawn darts, so it was a success. Stopped at the American park that is under the bridge and they have a great playground with some amazing equipment and before too long he was right in with the kids. He played very hard so really took some of the zip out of him. Stopped for an ice cream cone and got back here, set up the lawn darts and had a few games of that. Then dinner and now he is having a guitar lesson from John. Tomorrow we are driving up to Pikes Peak and stopping and fishing some of the lakes. Hopefully it will be a better fishing day. No pictures today, camera was on the charger.

Add on

Didn't want to lose what I had, so will continue with day 4. Went to the movie Wall-E, kids enjoyed it, but it was not for anyone over 10. Then we took Roinn home and met up with the guys for dinner. Had mexican and Anthony was not sure that he liked anything, but we got him full very easy. Back at the rv and have a movie on for him, after a 175 dollars they decided there was nothing wrong with the tv or connection, just that we are in Manitou! So that is all for the day.

RENAISANCE FAIRE

The faire was a blast. Anthony thought it was not his thing, but once he got there and seen all the people looking like idiots, he got right into it. He tried jacobs ladder, didn't make it, baseball throw, never broke a plate, darts, no balloons were harmed, tomato throw, missed, but he did get one frog in a basket and for that he won a tiny plastic fly and he immediately tore off the wings. He was a very good big brother with Roinn, really watched over him, and took him on the rides, it was so cute. Then he tried the maze, we thought he was lost it took him so long.....but it was a lot of laughs and we all had a great time. He ended up looking like a pirate by the end of the day, dorag, skull necklace, and an awesome wooden sword . That was Cyndi's doing, no way was I paying 40 dollars for a piece of wood, but will have to admit that he likes it more than I would have thought.

Renaissance Faire

Aaarrggg......pirates beware! Oh, what a day, didn't think that I would have a good time, but I was fooled. There was a lot to do. We ate, sausage on a stick, turkey legs, lots of good things. I was the big brother to Roinn, he was Captain Jack. Took him on some of the rides, and watched out for him, he is really very tiny. Kind of fun being a BIG brother.

Day3...Pancakes for breakfast, we didn't do anything today, spent it waiting for the repairman to fix the tv connections, but he didn't make it. Will tomorrow for sure. So I played lots of wii. Then we went to Cyndi's for dinner and then we had ice cream. Now watching a movie. When we got home there was another rv parked next to us, boy is it close. Can hardly get in the door. Next week we are going to the cabin and then when we come back will go to the air force academy. On the way to Cyndi's we seen this skunk with all these babies, and then later we seen them going under her deck, but no smell. Night now......writing this blog is not for me.

Anthony's take of the day

Day 2.....Got up this morning and had breakfast with Po, just cereal, but it was good. Then we got dressed and went and got hair cuts. When we got back Nana and I took a walk to the park, but only climbed on a few things. There is a small pond there and found out today that they stocked it last week, so think we are going fishing tomorrow. Played some with the wii and then we went to the movies, seen Get Smart. It was so funny. After wards we stopped at a place called Noodles. I had buttered noodles with shrimp and it was so good, Nana said that I should try new things, and maybe I will. LOL Got a movie (Call of the Wild) to watch, the TV hook-ups are not working so there is no TV . They have someone coming to see if they fix it tomorrow. Guess that is all for today.

Arrivial Day

Arrivial day-June 25th. Got up really really early. Dad took me to the airport. The airplane was kind of small, but there were lots of people on it. There was another kid flying but we did not get to sit together, he sat behind me. They gave us some snack, the bagel was old and disgusting, and the oatmeal cookie was even worse. Had sprite to drink, it was good. Took a nap, cause there was nothing to see, and then we got to Colorado Springs. Nana & Po were waiting for me, and we got my suitcase, and then went to McDonalds. I had a cheeseburger and blizzard, but my cheeseburger had no cheese! Got to the trailer and seen 2bits, she still hates me. Then I took another nap, traveling is hard work! When I woke up aunt Cyndi was here and we went and had pizza. I had my own cheese pizza, it was good. Then we went to the arcade and played some of the games. Came back to the trailer and watched a movie and went to sleep. That is all for today.
