Catching up on the past few weeks

Wow, where to begin? Went to the cabin at Westcliff, Colorado. Anthony's aunt and uncle have a cabin near lake Dewiess. Was there over the 4th of July week end and there were a lot of people there. So there was many things to keep us all busy. Played "cornhole", which is a beanbag toss game, but everyone can play. Which Anthony took on all takers, he loves playing anything and he stayed so busy that had to make him stop to eat! Then one day was spent on the boat, and he tried the tube and that was great fun. But too soon everyone left, and he had only his Nana and Po. Thankfully there were some kids near by that had a trampoline and they were about his age, so most of the days were spent on it. Tried his hand at fishing for a few minutes, and spent some time swimming. One day we loaded in the truck for a road trip and ended up at the Royal Gorge park. That was totally awesome. Anthony is not too fond of heights, but will say he was a real trooper, but the red tram was not to be tried. Did ride across the bridge and walked back and took the railway cog to the bottom.

It was a nice park, and saw some big horn sheep and other animals too. Spent 10 days at the cabin, but it seemed a lot longer, our satellite tv didn't work, so we rented every movie, played cards, rummykin, and anything else. On the week ends they have movies at the one theater in town. We seen the movie Kung Fo Panda. It was very cute, the pandas name is Po! Came back to town on Sunday, we are staying at the same campground as before. It is Pike Peak in Manitou. Did go one day with Nathan (friend that Anthony had met a few years ago) to Mr. Biggs (video amusement park). That is the only time that they spent anytime together. Nathan is tired most of the time, his dad has him on a triathlon team so he is working out a lot. But there is a boy in the RV park and they are the same age so they are having a good time. Also Anthony has been going to the swimming pool, which is right next door, in the afternoons. Went to the zoo this past Sunday, and they have one fabulous zoo here. Spent 5 hours there and he enjoyed it to no end, there were so many things that he was just enchanted with. It was so neat to watch him enjoying it so. He even took the sky lift with us, and then wanted to do it again! So much for his fear of hieghts. Today was the new Batman movie, which wasn't all that good.

Today was a work day, laundry got done, shopping, getting everything ready to leave tomorrow for the cabin. We went to Costco, now that is Anthony's kind of store, like Sam's, lots of samples. He is spending the night at Cyndi's with Roinn. Leaving early in the morning and will try to keep a running story to post when we get a hook up again. There is no service of any kind at the cabin, although there is electric and all in the cabin.

Way up High

What a day! Can not believe that I was the one to suggest going to the top of the mountain, there were no guard rails, the road turned to dirt, then mud as they were grading it and wetting it down, guess so they could scrap it easier. It was just plain spooky, and Anthony could not have enjoyed it less. Then we stopped at one of the lakes to fish, but surprisingly the lake water level was down, so the walk in was a little much. And Anthony's theory is if the fish are not biting, lets eat. And he did, beginning to think there is a hollow leg attached to that kid. Did catch one fish and then we left. Santas Village (amusement park) was on the road home, and old people(over 60) got in free, so we decided this would be a good time for him to go. He got his money's worth, if you only counted the tilt-a-whirl, think he rode it 10 times alone. He did get a little sick, but a chili dog seemed to clear that up, cause after that he did some more rides. Too be young again, as it is, that is all for now, have to get up and let my butt in the door, it just got home! Pictures later.
